What are unrestrict statements used for in the search profiles?

If a profile contains restriction statements but you would like to remove or change those restrictions for a particular set of key-terms, then a separate section must be added to incorporate the new restrictions. The two sections will be divided by an unrestrict separator.

For example, a client that sells both products and services may want their service-related key-terms restricted to certain states, but not their commodity-related key-terms, as illustrated by the following simplified profile.

restrict state!ca
restrict cat:y,z
select bridge<>(maintain* or repa* or rehab*)
unr
select bulldozer?
select construction<2u>equipment
select trencher?

When a profile is considered by OutreachSystems' search logic, the presence of an unrestrict separator will cause any previous restrictions in the profile to be ignored. This means that if your client wants to carry over any restrictions from the previous section of the profile, such as the Global file exclusions, these restrictions must be repeated after the unrestrict separator in order for them to be considered for that section.
